It slots nicely into a broader Kintyre exploration. The Gather, just a few miles back towards Tarbert, is your best bet for a base - it's a proper comfortable park with excellent reviews. From there you can string together several walks and small archaeological spots without the tourist machinery. Bring a camera for the views across towards Islay, and check the weather beforehand because exposure up here is genuine.
