Stanner Rocks

The walk up to Stanner Rocks takes you through proper countryside - open moorland with views that stretch for miles once you're up there. It's not a brutal climb, but it's steep enough that you'll feel you've earned the summit. The rocks themselves are distinctive red sandstone outcrops that jut out of the hillside, and they're genuinely worth the effort. On a clear day, you can see right across Mid Wales from up here, which explains why people bother making the trek.

Walkers appreciate it because the route is manageable without being dull, and the payoff is real views rather than another forgettable summit.
