The plantation covers enough ground that you can spend a solid hour or two here without feeling rushed, though it won't blow your mind with views or dramatic features. If you're after dramatic, this isn't it. If you want a proper walk without crowds, it delivers.

Family groups with younger children get the most from it - the paths are manageable, there's enough space to let them burn off energy, and the scale feels right for maintaining interest without overdoing it. Serious walkers might find it a bit tame unless they're collecting route combinations across the area.

The plantation works brilliantly as part of a wider Lincolnshire rambling trip. It's close enough to North Gulham Glamping (just over 5 miles away) that you could make it a morning outing before heading to other spots, or a gentle alternative if you want something closer to base. Pop into Market Rasen for supplies before or after - the town's right there, which beats driving miles for a coffee.
