The bird hide at Balgavies Loch sits tucked away on the eastern edge of Forfar, offering one of those quiet corners that makes you wonder why more people don't know about it. You're looking out over shallow water fringed with reeds, the kind of place where patience actually pays off rather than leaving you frustrated.

This is Scottish Wildlife Trust territory, so expect proper conservation work happening in the background. The hide itself is basic - wooden construction, viewing slots - but that's rather the point.
