Sylvia's Clump

A small woodland patch east of Peterstone that delivers exactly what it promises - a proper walk among Norfolk pines and native trees. It's not vast, and you won't find a visitor centre or café, but that's rather the point. The forest floor is soft underfoot, the air smells right, and on a quiet morning you might see nothing but birds and the occasional jogger.

Walkers will find it straightforward enough, though the terrain is unremarkable - no dramatic vistas or dramatic elevation changes. It's the sort of place you'd add to a longer ramble rather than make a special trip for on its own. Children will manage fine if they're the sort who actually enjoy trees rather than demand constant entertainment.

The real value here is proximity. If you're staying at Pinewoods Holiday Park, just over two miles away, or Deepdale Camping & Rooms a bit further out, Sylvia's Clump makes for a decent leg-stretch without faffing about with maps. Pop in for an hour, clear your head, move on. It's free, obviously, and there's no admission desk to worry about.

Bring proper footwear - Norfolk woodland can be damp even when it hasn't rained recently. Early morning or late afternoon tends to be quieter. Don't expect facilities. It's a real forest, not a visitor attraction dressed up as one.
