Ten Acre Copse

Ten Acre Copse is a proper woodland walk just outside Tiverton, the sort of place where you can lose an hour without realizing it. The trees are dense enough to feel like you've actually escaped, even though you're only minutes from town. You'll find yourself on winding paths through mature woodland - nothing challenging, just pleasant ambling through beech and oak with enough space to breathe.

It's genuinely good for families with younger kids who tire easily. The paths aren't technical, the distance is manageable, and there's enough to look at - fungi in autumn, bird life if you're quiet, the occasional clearing. Older children might find it a bit lacking after forty minutes or so, unless they're into woodland photography or identifying trees. If you're staying at Nirvana Glamping or Waterrow Touring Park nearby, it's an easy option for a morning walk without having to drive far.

Walkers using it as part of a broader Devon exploration won't be disappointed, though it's not a destination in itself - more of a solid local bonus. There's no visitor infrastructure that I could find, so bring water and check the weather; boggy ground isn't uncommon after rain. Free access appears standard for woodland like this. Two hours maximum if you're thorough, including a gentle pace and a proper look around.
