The paths are clear and well-maintained, though nothing here demands serious hiking boots - think afternoon stroll rather than expedition. Walking through takes roughly an hour to ninety minutes depending on how much you pause to poke about.

What makes it work for a park holiday is the proximity to The Green Escape glamping and Surrey Hills Yurts, both within easy reach. If you're based at either, Tenningshook becomes a logical half-day venture before returning for supper. Henfold Lakes sits a bit further out but still reasonable for combining with other activities.

Children will enjoy the freedom to explore between trees, though there's no playground or structured attractions, so younger kids might lose interest if they're expecting slides and swings. It's genuinely free and open access - no visitor centre nonsense, no admission fee. Go early morning or midweek if you want solitude; weekends pull the local crowd.
