The Cascade

Water tumbles down a series of rocky steps into a surprisingly deep pool, creating the kind of natural swimming spot that feels properly wild despite being just outside Worcester. The Cascade isn't massive - you can walk around the whole thing in ten minutes - but there's something rather magical about finding clear water in the Worcestershire countryside.

Families with older children will love it most. The water's deep enough for a proper swim on hot days, though it's absolutely Baltic even in summer. Younger kids might find the rocky edges a bit challenging, but there are gentler spots for paddling if you pick your way around carefully.

Best visited early morning or late afternoon when the light catches the water just right and you've got the place mostly to yourself. It's well worth combining with a stay at one of the nearby parks like The Coppice Leisure Park or Lenchford Meadow Holiday Park. You're close enough to Worcester for proper shops and cafes, but far enough out to feel like you've escaped the crowds. Bring a picnic and make an afternoon of it.
