The Cherry Circle

The trees form a proper circular walk, and when they're in bloom around late April, it's genuinely worth timing a visit around. Spring's the obvious choice, though the structure of the trees themselves has enough character year-round that you're not wasting an afternoon if you turn up in January.

It's the kind of place that works best as part of a morning constitutional rather than a standalone attraction. Twenty minutes maximum to loop it properly, unless you're stopping for photos or just sitting on whatever benches they've dotted about. Kids under eight might find it a bit thin without some kind of treasure hunt game attached - it's a walk with trees, not a playground.

Reading's close enough that you could pair this with a wander round town, but honestly, if you're staying at Wellington Country Park up the road, you're better served by their own woodland walks. California Chalet & Touring Park is nearer, and The Cherry Circle could make a gentle 20-minute detour on a non-rainy day. It's free, obviously, and you'll know everything about it within the hour.

Worth the short drive from Reading if you're already in Wokingham? Yes. Worth planning a whole day around? Not really.
