The Nook - enclosed dog field

The Nook is a fully enclosed dog field just outside Salisbury - essentially a fenced-off bit of countryside where your dog can run about without you having a heart attack every time they spot a rabbit. It's the sort of place that sounds unremarkable until you've got a dog that's a bit too keen on chasing things, at which point it becomes rather brilliant.

What you get is a proper field, not some tiny pen. Dogs can actually stretch their legs properly and burn off energy before you head back to your holiday park. There's no equipment or facilities to speak of - it's not complicated, which is rather the point. Just open the gate, let them loose, and watch them go mental for twenty minutes.

It works best for people with dogs that don't play well with others or simply need space to run. If you've got a perfectly behaved spaniel who comes when called, you'd probably be fine at any number of parks around here. If you've got a terrier with a one-track mind, this is gold.

If you're staying at Green Hill Farm Holiday Village, it's barely three miles away - an easy detour before settling in for the evening. Stick it in between a walk in Salisbury and a pub tea. Allow thirty minutes or so, depending on how long you want to sit and watch them charge about like they've not seen grass in months.

Bring water, check the conditions aren't waterlogged after rain, and make sure your recall is solid before you let them out.
