The Spectacle

You can wander freely around the exterior. Allow twenty minutes unless you're the sort who spends ages photographing Georgian brickwork, in which case make it an hour. Check locally about opening hours for any buildings that might be open to the public, as details are thin on the ground.

Sandy Hill Farm is just 1.6 miles away if you're staying in the area, with Billing Aquadrome offering more facilities closer to hand at 3.9 miles. The Spectacle works best as part of a broader Northampton town visit rather than a destination on its own, but it's well worth a quiet detour if you're staying at one of the nearby parks.
