Trig Brewery

Trig Brewery sits just outside York and does exactly what it says on the tin - brews proper beer. The operation is small and feels genuinely craft-focused rather than Instagram-ready, which is refreshing. You'll find a tap room where you can try their range straight from the source, usually with a pint in hand and someone who actually knows what they're talking about behind the bar.

It's the sort of place that appeals to serious beer drinkers more than casual visitors. If you're into hoppy IPAs, traditional ales, or just want to understand what local brewers are doing, you'll get something out of a visit. Less so if you're expecting a day-long attraction with food stalls and live music - this is straightforward brewery fare.

Allow an hour or so. Admission and pricing aren't confirmed online, so ring ahead before you go. It works well as a stop during a York visit rather than a destination in itself. If you're staying at one of the nearby glamping spots - Ball Hall Farm is barely two miles away - it makes sense to pop by on an evening walk into town. Acorn Glade and The Spinney are similarly close, all within easy reach for a brewery detour without needing to drive.
