Upside Down House Partnership - Great Yarmouth

You'll spot it straight away - a Victorian terraced house that's been flipped on its head, literally turned upside down and planted on the seafront at Great Yarmouth. It's the sort of thing that stops you dead in your tracks, the kind of surreal sight that makes you reach for your phone before you've even worked out what you're looking at.

Inside, everything hangs from what used to be the floor. Furniture dangles overhead, a piano sits inverted, rooms are configured as if gravity decided to have a laugh one afternoon. It's designed to mess with your sense of perspective, and it does - walk through and your brain spends a good twenty minutes arguing with itself about which way is up.

This is one for the kids, frankly. They'll spend longer than you will, climbing around, working out how things could possibly be arranged this way. Adults tend to clock it, take their photos, and move on within half an hour. Fair warning: it can feel a bit cramped if you're visiting on a busy summer's day, and the novelty does wear off once you've seen the main spaces.

It works well as a quick diversion if you're staying at Azure Seas Holiday Village - close enough for an hour's entertainment on a drizzly afternoon without it being a major expedition. Not worth planning a day around, but solid as a seaside oddity goes.
