Upside down Mural

There's a mural in Fleetwood that does exactly what its name suggests - it's upside down. Walk past it on a normal day and your brain does a funny flip, trying to work out whether you're standing on your head or the artist was. It's the sort of thing that makes you stop mid-stride and actually look at the street art rather than walk straight past it.

This is proper street art territory. The mural plays with perspective in a way that feels fresh without being pretentious. It's become one of those Instagrammable spots that locals actually quite like, which is rare. Kids find it genuinely confusing in an entertaining way - they'll want to photograph themselves in front of it, turn the image upside down on your phone, and laugh at how it shifts. It's not some vast undertaking that demands hours of your time, but it's worth a ten-minute detour if you're in the area.

Fleetwood itself has enough going on to make this a viable stop rather than just a photo op. The seafront isn't glamorous, but it's honest - plenty of fish and chips places, actual working fishing boats, and a decent promenade. If you're staying at Wilson House Holiday Park or Mill House Farm Pods nearby, both solid choices for a Lancashire coast break, you could easily fit this in as a quick morning wander before heading to the beach proper. The mural's free, obviously, and you can see it anytime. Best in daylight though - the contrast matters.
