Walker Park

Walker Park sits on the outskirts of Inverness, a proper local spot that most tourists miss entirely while chasing Loch Ness monsters further south. It's essentially a riverside walk with some decent green space, the kind of place where you'll actually see locals jogging or walking their dogs rather than groups clutching selfie sticks.

The park itself doesn't have much in the way of major attractions or facilities - no visitor centre, no gift shop, no staged Instagram moments. What you get is access to some pleasant walking paths along the river, reasonable views if the weather's on your side, and the chance to breathe properly away from Inverness town centre. It's the sort of place you'd spend forty minutes or an hour max, unless you're genuinely keen on a longer riverside walk.

Families with young kids will find it acceptable for a quick leg-stretch between drives, though there's nothing here to hold their attention for hours. Keen walkers treating it as a starting point for a longer riverside ramble will get more from it. History buffs won't find much - it's not ancient, not particularly storied.

If you're based at one of the nearby caravan parks - Ardtower or Go Glamping at Loch Ness are both excellent - Walker Park makes for a useful fifteen-minute drive option on a lazy afternoon. Don't go out of your way specifically for it, but if you're in Inverness and need to kill an hour between activities, it's free, accessible, and genuinely pleasant. Beats sitting in a cafe.
