Weedens Hill

Bracknell Forest doesn't exactly scream "mountain adventure", but Weedens Hill delivers a proper surprise. This modest peak rises through dense woodland just outside Windsor, offering a decent leg-stretch for anyone staying at the nearby holiday parks around Chertsey or Warfield Park.

Walking to the summit takes about twenty minutes through typical Surrey heathland - think gorse, bracken, and the odd deer if you're lucky. The views from the top won't have you reaching for your camera, but on a clear day you can spot the Windsor Castle towers through the trees. Families with older kids will manage it fine, though pushchair users should look elsewhere.

What makes this spot work is its accessibility. Free parking at the base means it's an easy morning out before heading back to your caravan. The hill connects to several longer walking routes if you fancy extending the ramble, and there's enough open space at the summit for a picnic.

Dog walkers absolutely love this place - you'll encounter plenty on the paths. The terrain stays firm year-round, so it's walkable even after rain. Allow an hour for the round trip, though you could easily spend longer exploring the surrounding forest paths. Not spectacular, but a solid option for stretching your legs during a holiday park stay in the area.
