Winder Wood

A steep woodland walk above Lancaster that rewards your lungs with proper views across the Lune Valley. Winder Wood isn't a manicured forest - it's the real thing, with uneven paths, gnarled trees, and sections that'll have you grabbing branches to haul yourself uphill.

It's best suited to walkers with a bit of fitness and proper footwear. Kids manage it fine if they're the outdoor type, but toddlers will struggle with the gradient.
