Walkers will rate this highly. It's accessible enough for families with older kids, though younger ones might grumble halfway up. History types will find it interesting as a vantage point - the strategic importance of high ground around Gloucester becomes obvious once you're standing up there. Allow two hours if you're not rushing, maybe longer if you want to sit about and take in the view properly.

Stay at one of the nearby campsites - The Glamping Orchard and Gables Farm are both within easy reach - and you've got a solid half-day activity that'll work alongside exploring Gloucester itself or tackling other walks in the area. It's not going to blow your mind, but it's well worth doing if you're in the region. Free, straightforward, and genuinely good views.
