Worthing Library sits bang in the town centre, a proper Victorian building that's been given a decent modern refresh inside. It's the sort of place you'd wander into on a drizzly afternoon - and genuinely find yourself staying longer than planned. The local history section is worth a proper look if you're interested in Sussex's past, and they've got a solid collection of recent fiction alongside the usual reference stuff.

This isn't a destination attraction in itself, but if you're camped at one of the sites near Lancing - Beach Park or Eastern Sands are just a couple of miles away - it's handy for a couple of hours when the weather turns. Kids might spend half an hour in the children's section, though honestly you're not talking all-day entertainment here. Free to use, obviously, and the staff know their stuff about local information.

The building's worth seeing architecturally if you care about that sort of thing, all red brick and decent windows. It's a five-minute walk from the seafront, so you could easily combine it with a stroll along the beach or a browse through Worthing's town shops. Not a must-do by any stretch, but a solid wet-weather backup if you're basing yourselves in the area for a week or so. Real libraries do that job better than any paid attraction ever could.
