Yeoman Hill

The climb up Yeoman Hill rewards you with something proper - sweeping views across the Pennine moorland that makes the trudge from Keighley entirely worthwhile. This isn't a dramatic peak, but it punches above its weight for a quick moorland walk, with the summit offering views towards Brontë Country and the rolling hills beyond.

It's the sort of place walkers drag themselves up on a decent weather day rather than something you'd plan a whole trip around. Allow a couple of hours return from the car park - the path itself is straightforward enough, though it does get a bit steep for what it is in places. The terrain is typical Pennine moorland: grassland, the occasional rocky section, and wind that seems to come from every direction at once.

Families with younger kids might find it a bit of a slog, but teenagers who can manage a decent hike will find it satisfying enough. History types won't find much to grab onto here - this is purely about the walking and the landscape.

It slots nicely into a broader Pennine walking itinerary, perhaps combined with exploring the moorland around Haworth. Free to access, and you'll want to go when the weather's actually playing ball - the views can vanish entirely when the mist rolls in.
