Lickpenny Matlock Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite

A beautifully laid out caravan site, with space and hedges between most pitches. Set on the side of a hill, so levelling required to pitch but nice views. Toilet/shower block is dated but adequate. Clean and tidy. No country walks from the site, busy fast lanes surround the site. Only negative is the amount of small yappy dogs at 0730hrs. Very well laid out site in a great location. helpful and friendly staff, and all clean and tidy. We did stay at a very quiet time (mid Jan 2026) when it was extremely cold and frosty, so the external water pipes were frozen but the toilet and shower blocks and laundry room were warm and working well. Not sure how the facilities will cope when the site is full but take your chances. Nice pub down ...

Good campsite in a great location, with excellent views over the valley. Is a little tired, but hopefully now a CMC site will get upgraded. Had a fully serviced pitch, but unfortunately water froze overnight, and none came out of tap. The nearest shower block to us, was small, and with push button to operate, which only stayed on for about 5 seconds. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Great location with fantastic views, good lighting at night and good size pitches with the choice of standard and fully serviced pitches all with 16 amp electric. The site is on hill and the paths in parts are quite steep which also makes it difficult to find a level pitch we were in a motorhome and had it on the highest ramps and we were still sloping downhill, we had no TV aerial reception and ...

We stay here firstly about 12 years ago. It was lovely then. We've just been back for the first time since it's been taken over by the caravan and motorhome club. Nothing has changed. It's still a lovely site. Large pitches. Roads are ample wide enough. It's clean and tidy.
