We stayed for 3 nights at the campsite. It is a back to basic no nonsense campsite exactly what we were looking for. Great to be in the middle of nowhere, no noise or light pollution. The portable toilets are clean and there is water availble. What more do you need !! Philip makes sure that everyone is ok en enjoying (behaving) themselves. This gave us a safe and welkom feeling. Location was good and the river was great for all water based activity, but the toilets were a disgusting disgrace. Full of cobwebs and urine all over them. I wouldn't sit on them if my life depended on it.

We stayed in a glamping tent for one night and had a really enjoyable experience. Philip, the owner, was very friendly and helpful. The tent itself was spotless, well equipped with crockery, and the beds were comfortable. We loved having our own fire pit, and the picnic bench by each tent was a nice touch. Has a glamping section. The main field is quite flat, so there was no need for us to put the motorhome up on the ramps. Section by the river is not as flat but OK. Wooden steps allow easy access to the river into a shallower part, which would be ideal for kids paddling. 4 portaloos kept clean, but you need to expect them to be smelly. We had a fantastic stay at Preston Campsite. It’s a lovely, family-run site with a really welcoming feel. Our tents were beautiful – spacious, well set up, with comfy beds and plenty of storage, which made everything so easy and relaxed.
