Getting here couldn't be easier - Perth sits bang on the A9, Scotland's main north-south route, with regular trains from Edinburgh and Glasgow taking about an hour. The M90 brings you up from the central belt in similar time. It's that rare thing: a proper Scottish town that doesn't require an expedition to reach.

Staying at one of the nearby holiday parks makes perfect sense. You get the countryside peace and quiet, but Perth's shops, restaurants and train connections are minutes away. Plus you're ideally placed for day trips - Stirling Castle is an hour south, while the Highlands beckon just up the road.
