All Saints Church

The church sits just above Marlow's high street, a solid medieval presence that most visitors hurry past on their way to the riverside pubs. All Saints is worth stopping for, though - it's a proper working parish church with real character rather than a museum piece.

Inside, the building reads like a map of English religious history. Medieval stonework, Tudor additions, Victorian restoration work - it's all there if you know where to look. The stained glass is decent rather than spectacular, but on a sunny afternoon the light through the windows makes the nave feel genuinely peaceful. You'll spend maybe 20 to 30 minutes here, tops, unless you're the sort who reads every memorial plaque.

Families with younger kids might find it a bit dull - there's not much to hold their attention beyond the novelty of climbing the creaky stairs. Walkers doing the Thames Path will pass right by it, and frankly, the riverside itself is the real draw in this area. That said, if you're staying at one of the nearby caravan parks like Hurley Riverside or Shillingridge Glamping, the church makes a useful rainy-day stop or a quiet sit-down between meals.

It's free to enter and usually open during daylight hours, though you'll want to check locally before turning up. No fancy facilities, no cafe - just a church. Which is rather the point.
