Chiltern Retreat Rural Camping

Really wanted to give this 5 stars. Lovely wooded site. Friendly staff. Lovingly crafted facilities and all. Unfortunately the nearby farm is running some machinery constantly all day and also...all night. Had to wear earplugs to sleep.....in the middle of nowhere. This really spoils what would otherwise be a little paradise. It would be great if they could find some solution to this.

Lovely, clean campsite, with various types of pitches, wooded or open field. Open field offers very generous pitches. Nickie the Manager is a very lovely lady who cannot do enough to make your stay as perfect as possible. 10/10 for all aspects of this site.

Lovely quiet site with choice of field or woodland pitch. No electric hook ups, which was fine for us. Good facilities and plenty of freezer storage space if you need it. Also charge points for phones. We loved hearing the owls at night and we saw deer on our walks too. Perfect short break.

I can't think back to a time when I liked a place so much that I went back. But this place is worth it. A fantastic campsite, beautifully landscaped so that you and your squad can camp in large pitches in the woods and enjoy privacy. No nonsense rules about putting up extra shelters. There are enough trees to hang hammocks and the facilities are decent. It was a shame that there was a firepit ban ...

What a super place for a short camping trip with friends. The camping field was very well maintained with clearly-marked and spacious pitches. Site facilities were excellent (clean toilet/shower facilities and washing up area). Fire grates and wood provided- very nice touch. The staff very helpful and efficient. Highly recommended.
