The estuary's excellent for spotting, particularly in winter.

Timing-wise, summer weekends will be busiest, but autumn or spring offers a quieter experience and often better light. Allow 30 minutes to an hour just for the walk and a look about. It works well as part of a wider Littlehampton morning rather than a standalone stop.

Given how close the parks are - Brook Lane is only four miles further inland - you could easily combine this with a proper beach day at Littlehampton proper.
