The rows of mature trees create a cool, shaded tunnel that feels almost cathedral-like on a bright day, quite something when you're used to the open marshes that dominate this part of the world.

It's a straightforward walk rather than a scramble, which means families with younger kids won't struggle, though they might get bored after twenty minutes or so if you're not the type to linger. What draws you here is the sheer calm of it - no signposts, no visitor centre, just trees and the chance to get away from the caravan park bustle for an hour. The avenue works best in late afternoon when the light filters through properly, or on a misty morning if you can catch it.

If you're based at The Nurseries Caravan Site, it's less than six miles away, making it an easy morning or early evening trip without eating into your seaside time. Walkers will appreciate the gentle pace; history buffs less so, as there's not much backstory to speak of. Come for the atmosphere rather than the attraction itself. Free access, no facilities on site, so bring water. Allow forty minutes to an hour to do it justice without rushing.
