A proper wild corner of Cornwall, Bakers Pit Nature Reserve sits just outside Amalveor and feels genuinely off the beaten track - the kind of place where you might have the paths to yourself on a weekday morning. It's a small reserve, so don't come expecting vast moorland; instead you get dense woodland, scrubby heath, and the sort of quietness that makes you actually notice bird calls.

The walking here is gentle rather than demanding. A couple of hours will do it justice, though you could easily spend longer just pottering about if the light's good.
