Biddulph Library

A library might not sound like holiday material, but Biddulph's has something worth stopping for if you're camping nearby. It's a proper local hub - the kind of place where you can escape a rainy afternoon without spending money, browse local history books about the Potteries, or just sit quiet for twenty minutes while the kids pick something to read.

The building itself is nothing grand, but it serves the town well. You'll find the usual library stock - fiction, non-fiction, children's section - plus local information about Stoke-on-Trent's industrial heritage and the surrounding countryside. If you're into that sort of thing, the staff are usually helpful about what's worth visiting in the area.

Really, this is a backup plan rather than a destination. Rain-day material. Useful if you're based at Avona Escapes or Rudyard Vale for a few nights and fancy a break from the outdoors without heading into Stoke town centre itself. Biddulph's also close enough to proper attractions - the Potteries Museum, decent walks around Rudyard Lake - that you won't feel you've wasted the detour.

Families with younger readers might appreciate it; older kids will probably want something more entertaining. Don't plan your whole trip around visiting a library, but if you're passing through or the weather turns, it's there and it's free.
