The walk up Bourne Hill rewards you with proper views across the Salisbury Plain - it's the sort of spot where you can actually see why people settled here centuries ago. The hill itself isn't dramatic; it's a steady climb through chalk grassland with the kind of wide, open horizons that make you understand the landscape's shape and story.

You're looking at a Bronze Age burial mound here, which adds weight to the walk even if the earthworks aren't immediately obvious to untrained eyes. The real appeal is the vantage point itself. On a clear day, Salisbury Cathedral spire sits small and perfect in the distance, and you get a genuine sense of how the town relates to the surrounding chalk country.
