About Brooks's Coppice
It's the sort of place where you can spend an hour or three depending on mood. Families with younger kids will manage a couple of easy loops without complaint. Walkers after a proper stretch can disappear deeper into the canopy and lose a good half-day. The forest floor is soft underfoot after rain - damp and rich-smelling - and autumn here is genuinely worth timing a visit around.
This isn't a manicured country park experience. There's no café, no visitor centre, no entry fee either as far as I can tell. You just show up and walk. That's refreshing in its own way, though it does mean checking the ground conditions before you head out with the family.
If you're based at Lodge Coppice Holiday Park or Bank Farm Holiday Park - both excellent spots just a few miles away - this is an easy add to a morning's plans. It won't dominate your day, but it's the kind of woodland walk that settles you after a journey and gives you space to breathe properly.
