Broomhill viewpoint

Climb up to Broomhill and you'll understand why Burntisland folk keep coming back here. The viewpoint sits high enough to give you proper views across the Firth of Forth, with the industrial sprawl of Edinburgh visible on clear days and the bridge spanning the water like something from a postcard. There's nothing fancy about it - no visitor centre, no gift shop, just you and the landscape.

This is a walker's stop rather than a destination in itself. Most people allow twenty minutes here, enough to catch your breath, take some photos, and move on. The climb up from Burntisland takes about fifteen minutes depending on your fitness, and it's steeper than it looks on the map. Families with young kids might find it a bit of a slog, but once you're there they'll enjoy spotting boats on the water.

The real value comes if you're staying at one of the nearby parks - Pettycur Bay Holiday Park and Sandhills Caravan Park are both within walking distance, making Broomhill a natural loop walk for a couple of hours. It's free and accessible, which means you can visit whenever the light's best. Early morning or late afternoon tend to be the quietest times, and the light's usually better for photographs then anyway.

There's nothing life-changing about Broomhill, but it's the sort of local viewpoint that makes sense if you're already in the area. Don't go out of your way for it.
