Brown Hill

The walk up Brown Hill rewards you with proper views across Aberdeenshire's rolling countryside - nothing fancy, but genuinely worth the effort if you're staying in Huntly. It's a straightforward climb that takes most people around 45 minutes to the top, depending on fitness and how often you stop to catch your breath. From the summit you get sight lines across farmland and moorland stretching towards the Grampians, with Huntly itself visible below. On a clear day it's a cracking spot for photos. The terrain is mixed - grassy in places, rougher underfoot in others - so proper walking boots matter more than you'd think.
