Burrow

The walk up Burrow is short but proper steep - you're looking at maybe twenty minutes from Craven Arms if you're fit, longer if you take it steady. The summit rewards you with views across the Shropshire Hills that justify the huffing and puffing, especially on a clear day when you can pick out the Long Mynd to the west.

It's not a technical climb. No scrambling, no ropes. Just a solid footpath that gets your legs working. The ground can be muddy after rain, so decent boots matter. Most people allow between an hour and ninety minutes for the whole thing - walk, summit sit-about, walk back down.

Families with older kids will get something out of it. Younger ones might find it a bit of a slog for not much payoff at the top - there's a trig point and grass, that's your lot. Walkers treating it as part of a longer Shropshire Hills circuit will find it useful enough, and anyone doing a base near Craven Arms can squeeze it in without travel faff.

You're within spitting distance of Wayside Camping and Shropshire Luxury Glamping if you want to stay nearby, though honestly the peak itself is free and fairly straightforward. Best visited on a dry day when visibility is reasonable - going up in clag makes the whole thing feel pointless. The walk sits well within a broader Shropshire Hills exploration, where there's considerably more substantial terrain to play with if Burrow feels too quick.
