Construction Corner sits just outside Cheltenham and is exactly what it sounds like - a proper showcase of heavy machinery, diggers, and construction equipment that will absolutely grip kids aged five to twelve. We're talking real industrial kit here, not toy models. The appeal is straightforward: children get to see and sometimes interact with the sort of vehicles they spot on building sites, which never fails to captivate that age group.

It's a hands-on sort of place rather than a museum. You're looking at spending an hour, maybe ninety minutes if your lot are particularly keen on climbing over everything. Free entry is likely, though it's worth checking ahead as opening hours can be erratic. The site works brilliantly as a half-day stop when you're based at one of the nearby parks - Bourton-on-the-Water Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite is under four miles away and makes a solid base, or Cotswolds Meadow Glamping if you fancy something a touch more upmarket.

Honestly, it's not a destination in itself. The Cotswolds have far better attractions if you've got a full day to kill. But if you've got restless five-year-olds and you're already staying locally, it fills a gap perfectly. The weather won't matter much - it's outdoors but the machines don't care whether it's drizzling. Go mid-morning if you can; school holidays get rammed.
