Football golf is one of those activities that sounds daft until you actually try it, then suddenly you're far more competitive than you'd like to admit. Cornwall FootballGolf Park, just outside Tregrehan Mills, is essentially crazy golf but you're kicking a football instead of swinging a putter. It's a nine-hole course where you're aiming to get your ball into targets using nothing but your feet.

The appeal is obvious for families with kids old enough to kick properly - roughly six upwards - though adults absolutely get into the spirit of it. There's something about the competitive edge of actually playing football that makes it more engaging than traditional mini golf. The course takes about 40 minutes to an hour depending on how good you are and how much mucking about you do.

It's free or low-cost (exact pricing is tricky to pin down without a current website), making it a decent rainy-day option when you're based at one of the nearby holiday parks - East Crinnis is closest at just over a mile away, or Par Sands if you fancy somewhere slightly larger. Given Cornwall's weather, having an activity that works in light drizzle and doesn't require booking is worth knowing about.

Worth a diversion if you're in the area with kids, though probably not a reason to travel an hour out of your way on its own. Pair it with a visit to somewhere like Par beach and you've got yourself a decent morning sorted.
