Corporation Meadow

Walking into Corporation Meadow feels like stepping back in time - this is one of Worcestershire's oldest and most important nature reserves, managed with proper care by the local wildlife trust. You're looking at traditional hay meadow, the sort of thing that's almost vanished from England, packed with wildflowers and insects that depend on land managed the old-fashioned way. Spring and early summer are when it really sings, with ragged robin, green-winged orchids, and butterflies everywhere you look.

It's a straightforward walk through open grassland - nothing strenuous, nothing complicated. The reserve sits just outside Evesham, making it an easy slot into a Worcestershire holiday without needing to drive far. You can cover it properly in an hour, though birdwatchers and plant enthusiasts will want longer to really get their eyes in.

Families with young children will find it decent enough for a quick leg-stretch, though there's no playground or café - just meadow, sky, and whatever wildlife shows up that day. If you're camping at Bredon-Vale Caravan and Camping or one of the glamping spots nearby like Plum Tree or Cotswold Woodland Glamping, it makes a natural morning excursion before heading elsewhere.

Admission is free, and there's no visitor centre to queue through, which is refreshingly honest. Wear wellies in wet weather - it's proper Worcestershire meadow, and the ground can be boggy.
