Courtlands Plantation

Walking into Courtlands Plantation feels like stepping into someone's private woodland - dense, quiet, properly green. This is a working forest just outside Hereford, the sort of place where you actually encounter trees rather than just look at them. The paths wind through established woodland with that particular smell of damp earth and leaf litter that makes you remember why you left the city.

It's ideal for walkers who want something low-key without the National Trust crowds. The plantation offers decent routes through mixed woodland - nothing too demanding, but enough distance to feel like you've had a proper walk rather than a stroll.
