Duneane Presbyterian Church

The white-washed walls of Duneane Presbyterian Church stand alone in the countryside near Antrim, a modest but genuinely striking building that catches the light beautifully on a clear day. Built in 1654, it's one of the oldest Presbyterian meeting houses in Ireland - which alone tells you something about the religious landscape here during a turbulent century.

Inside, the church is simple to the point of severity: whitewashed walls, basic wooden pews, a small pulpit. There's no grand nave or ornate stonework, but that's rather the point. Antrim town itself is minutes away for supplies or a proper coffee.
