Stay at Ord House Country Park just half a mile away and you're perfectly positioned for exploring the Tweed valley. Berwick itself is three miles south - proper medieval border town with actual atmosphere. The picnic area works best as part of a wider circuit: combine it with the town's walks and nearby reserves for a proper nature-focused break rather than an isolated stop.
