Expecting a slick modern experience? You might be disappointed. This feels authentically ramshackle, which is rather the point. The buildings themselves tell stories of generations who worked this land before theme parks and visitor centres existed.

From Swansea it's well worth the drive, especially if you're staying at one of the nearby holiday parks like Three Cliffs Bay or Oxwich Camping Park. Allow a good two hours to do it justice, though younger children might need bribing with ice cream after an hour. Best visited on a dry day - wellies recommended regardless.
