Flour Grinding Mill

Climbing the hillside above Three Cliffs Bay, you'll spot the weathered stone remains of what was once a working flour mill. The structure stands as a proper reminder of the Gower Peninsula's agricultural past, when farmers brought their grain here to be ground into flour for local communities.

History buffs will appreciate the stonework and the mill's position overlooking the coastline - there's clearly been thought put into the location for both wind power and transport routes. The ruins aren't extensive, mind you, so don't expect a grand castle-like experience. It's more of a brief stop that adds context to your coastal walk.

Families staying at Three Cliffs Bay Holiday Park will find it an easy detour when heading to the famous three limestone stacks below. The mill works well as part of a longer ramble along the cliff tops, though toddlers might find the uneven terrain challenging.

Walkers tackling the Wales Coast Path often pause here for the views across Oxwich Bay. From this vantage point, you can see why early millers chose this spot - the elevated position catches the sea breezes that would have powered the sails. Allow twenty minutes unless you're combining it with the beach walk below, which is frankly the main attraction.
