Fearnoch Forest Car Park Access

The car park at Fearnoch Forest is your gateway to one of Argyll's better walking routes, and it's refreshingly no-nonsense - just a proper parking area that gets you where you need to be. From here, you can access forest trails that wind through mature woodland with decent views across towards Loch Awe if you pick the right paths. It's the kind of place where you turn up, park, and get straight into it without any visitor centre nonsense or entrance fees.

Walkers will find the most to do here. The forest itself isn't dramatic - it won't knock your socks off if you're expecting Highland drama - but it's solid woodland walking territory, good for a couple of hours if you're exploring properly. On a clear day the views open up nicely once you gain a bit of height. It works particularly well if you're based at one of the nearby holiday parks around Loch Awe, like Loch View Luxury Pod or Loch Awe Holiday Park, turning it into a natural morning or afternoon outing from your accommodation.

Timing-wise, allow two to three hours if you want to do more than just a quick loop. It's free to park and access - that's genuinely the lot. Go midweek if you can, as weekends bring the usual car park queuing. Not spectacular enough to plan a trip around entirely, but if you're already in the Argyll area and fancy getting boots on properly, it's worth the detour from Oban.
