Furze Clump

Furze Clump sits on the eastern edge of Norfolk, a modest woodland patch that punches above its weight for walkers exploring the flatlands near Great Yarmouth. It's the kind of place that breaks up the endless horizon - proper useful if you're staying at one of the nearby holiday parks like Haven Wild Duck or Haven Hopton and need a proper walk that doesn't involve a car journey.

The woodland itself is small but dense, with a network of paths threading through trees and undergrowth. You'll get a genuine sense of being tucked away, even though you're only a couple of miles from the holiday villages. It's best visited in autumn when the canopy's thick enough to offer decent shelter and the light filters through in that golden way that makes Norfolk forests feel almost mysterious.
