A Victorian church right in the heart of Godalming, just a short drive from Guildford, this is the kind of place you'd stumble upon while wandering the high street rather than specifically plan a trip around. The building itself has that solid, well-built confidence typical of its era - red brick, decent proportions, nothing too showy but clearly meant to last.

Inside, it's a straightforward Methodist chapel space with good light and genuine warmth. The congregation seems properly welcoming if you're visiting during a service, which are held regularly throughout the week. It's the sort of church that actually feels used rather than preserved in aspic - flowers in the windows, notice boards full of genuine community stuff, that sort of thing.

Honestly, unless you're specifically interested in Victorian ecclesiastical architecture or you're researching your family tree, you won't want to spend hours here. But if you're based at one of the nearby parks - Firesyde is barely two miles away - and you're having a wander round Godalming itself, it's worth popping in. The town's got proper character compared to some of its neighbours, and this church sits right in that mix of old shops and riverside charm.

Best visited during opening hours for services, which you'll want to check before heading over. Free entry, obviously. Allow perhaps 15-20 minutes unless you're genuinely keen on the architecture. It works best as part of a broader Godalming stroll rather than a destination in itself.
