The ponds at Hardwick Park are a proper tranquil spot if you're after birdwatching or just a gentle stroll through nature. Pair it with other walks in the area to justify the trip - you won't want to make it your sole destination, but as a component of a country weekend it absolutely earns its place. Admission appears to be free, though there's little signage or infrastructure, which is rather refreshing.
