Hill Coppice

There's a reason locals keep coming back to Hill Coppice - it's proper woodland walking without the crowds you'd find at the bigger Gloucestershire forests. This mixed woodland sits just outside Malvern, close enough for a morning trip but far enough away that you'll actually feel like you've escaped somewhere.

The woodland is dense in places, which means the paths can get muddy after rain, but that's half the appeal. You're walking through the sort of forest that feels genuinely wild - not too manicured, with plenty of natural fallen wood and clearings that catch the light. It's excellent for families who want their kids burning off energy among actual trees rather than on managed trails, and it's exactly what you need if you're basing yourselves at Up Sticks Glamping or The Turbles nearby and fancy something low-key.

Walkers will appreciate the undulating terrain and the quiet. There's no café, no visitor centre, no facilities to speak of - which means you won't find the place rammed with day-trippers. Bring a map and sensible boots because the paths aren't always obvious, and frankly that's part of the charm.
