Walkers will get the most from Horsted Green. It's not a destination that demands hours, but an hour or so of gentle rambling suits it perfectly. Families with younger kids might find it a touch dull if they're after dramatic views or structured attractions - there's not much to "do" in the traditional sense. What you're actually doing is walking, observing, and breathing. If that appeals, brilliant. If your crew needs play equipment and cafes, you might save it for when they're older.

The location makes it handy for a wider Sussex break. Camp at The Secret Campsite just 3.5 miles away - it's genuinely excellent - and use Horsted Green as a morning stroll before heading into Lewes proper for lunch and exploring the town's bookshops and pubs. Alternatively, base yourself at Dernwood Farm Glamping or one of the other spots within easy reach and tick this off as a low-key nature walk between bigger days out.
