Kilgetty Community Garden

The Kilgetty Community Garden sits right on the doorstep of this small Pembrokeshire town, and it's the sort of place that rewards a proper wander rather than a quick five-minute visit. It's a working nature reserve where locals have genuinely put in the graft - you'll find native plants, wild corners managed for wildlife, and the kind of peaceful atmosphere that makes you wonder why more towns bother with this sort of thing.

Walkers and nature spotters will get the most from it. There's no grand spectacle here - no waterfall or viewpoint - but that's rather the point. You might catch sight of birds you don't see elsewhere, spot insects going about their business, and actually understand what a functioning local green space looks like. If you're staying at any of the caravan parks within a mile or so - The Buttles, Trees, or Sunnyvale over towards Saundersfoot - it's a five-minute stroll and absolutely free.

Allow 30 to 45 minutes if you're genuinely interested in what's growing there. Less if you're just after a quick leg-stretch between attractions. Families with young kids might find it a bit slow unless they're into hunting for bugs and identifying plants. The best time to visit is spring and early summer when things are actually growing and wildlife is active.

It won't compete with the bigger draws in Pembrokeshire, but paired with a caravan park stay, it's a decent local spot that does what it sets out to do without any fuss.
