Lions Den Dog Field

There's a field near Beverley where locals take their dogs, and it's genuinely one of those places that works brilliantly if you're staying at one of the nearby caravan parks - Butt Farm, Cherry Burton Leisure Park, or Willow Pond are all within five miles. Lions Den Dog Field is exactly what it sounds like: a proper space where dogs can run about off-lead without bothering anyone. The field itself is open and fairly unremarkable from a landscape perspective, but that's rather the point. Your dog gets to be a dog, and you get twenty minutes or an hour depending on how energetic your pooch is.

It's not a destination in itself, obviously. You won't travel to East Yorkshire specifically for this. But if you're based at one of the nearby holiday parks with a spaniel or a collie that needs exercise, it's invaluable. Families with young kids will find it less interesting unless their children are genuinely keen on watching other people's dogs play - which, to be fair, some are. The space is free to use and there's no formal opening hours, so you can visit first thing or late afternoon when it's quieter.

Locally, it fits neatly into a wider dog-friendly holiday routine. Beverley itself is only a few miles away with proper walks along the town's edges, and the rolling countryside around here offers decent rambling if the weather's decent. Come here to tire your dog out before heading into town for lunch.
